Anchor40

I was born and raised in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), South Africa, as the youngest of four children. Before I was born, one of my sisters passed away. Following that heartbreaking loss, my parents were encouraged by their doctor to have another child, and that is how I came into the world. At the time, none of us could have imagined what God already knew—that every life is intentional and every story matters.

The defining moment of my life came on 2 August 1998, when I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. That decision changed everything. It was not simply the beginning of a new belief system; it was the beginning of a relationship with the One who created me, redeemed me, and continues to transform me.

As I grew in my faith, God opened doors for me to serve in ministry. From 2007 to 2020, I was privileged to serve in a variety of ministry roles. I began as an Assistant Pastor, before God led me to another church where I served as an Evangelist. During that season, I also had the opportunity to minister and evangelise in Brazil, South America. Seeing God move across cultures and languages was a humbling reminder that the gospel belongs to every nation and every people.

After returning to South Africa, I was called to serve as Senior Pastor of a church, and later had the privilege of serving as Senior Pastor of another congregation. Every season of ministry shaped me in different ways, but together they reinforced one truth that continues to define my life: people do not simply need more information—they need transformation. Before people can confidently live out God’s calling, they must first know who they are in Christ.

My wife, Bernadine, has been my closest friend, greatest supporter and faithful partner throughout every season of life. Together, we have been blessed with two incredible children, Josh and Caleigh.

Watching Josh and Caleigh grow into adulthood has been one of the greatest privileges of our lives. Like every parent, we have celebrated milestones, walked through challenges, prayed through uncertain seasons, and rejoiced in seeing God’s faithfulness at work. Although life has taken us in different directions, the bond we share as a family remains strong.

Our children continue to remind me that influence is not measured by platforms or public ministry but by faithfulness in the lives of those God has entrusted to us. More than anything, family has taught me that ministry begins long before it reaches a platform. It begins in the quiet, ordinary moments of loving, serving, forgiving, encouraging, and faithfully walking with those closest to us.

Over the years, I have discovered that the greatest struggles people face are rarely a lack of ability. More often, they are struggles of identity. When we forget whose we are, we begin searching for our worth in success, approval, performance, possessions, or the opinions of others. Yet none of those things were ever meant to define us.

Everything changed when I began to understand that identity is not something we build—it is something we receive. Purpose is not about chasing significance; it is about faithfully honouring God today. Mission is not reserved for missionaries or pastors; it belongs to every follower of Jesus who chooses to reveal His character wherever they are.

Those truths became the foundation of Anchor40.

Anchor40 is more than a website, a book, or a collection of courses. It is a discipleship ministry that has grown out of a deep conviction God has placed on my heart: to help people become firmly anchored in Christ.

Whether through books, courses, speaking engagements, or everyday conversations, my desire is to help people discover their identity, faithfully live out their purpose, and reveal the character of Christ through their daily lives. My prayer is that every resource I create will encourage people to move beyond simply knowing about God to genuinely walking with Him.

Everything I create is built around three simple but life-changing truths:

Identity. Purpose. Mission.

I don’t claim to have all the answers. I am still learning, still growing, and still allowing God to shape my own life every day. But I have become convinced of one truth:

When our relationship with Christ becomes our foundation, everything else begins to find its proper place.

My hope is simple.

That every person who encounters Anchor40 will know they are deeply loved by God, firmly established in Christ, and fully equipped to live the life they were created to live.

Because I have come to believe that all growth starts with spiritual growth.

If my books encourage you, I’m grateful. If my teaching helps you, I’m thankful. But more than anything, my prayer is that through Anchor40 you will encounter Jesus for yourself. Because a life anchored in Christ is not merely a better life—it is the life we were created to live.
